The Confluencenter for Creative Enquiry and YWCA are teaming up with Raul E. Aguirre and the UA Department of Spanish and Portuguese to bring Chicano artist, political cartoonist and master troublemaker Lalo Alcaraz to Tucson on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the YWCA (525 N. Bonita Ave,), 7 p.m. Alcaraz is well-known as the man behind the first nationally-syndicated, politically-themed Latino daily syndicated comic strip, "La Cucaracha." He's also produced editorial cartoons for the L.A. Weekly since 1992 and also creates editorial cartoons in English and Spanish for Universal. The event is free and followed by a reception in the YWCA courtyard. Registration is required at YWCATucson.org. You must provide your registration to gain admission to this one night only event.
