Jason Statham, the modern-day equivalent of Charles Bronson, finds himself in another action film that is a confusing mess. Statham plays a killer-for-hire going after elite British-military guys for some reason involving a rich sheik’s sons getting killed. Statham’s character needs to go after the killers, because the sheik has kidnapped his friend, played by Robert De Niro. (Yes, Robert De Niro.) Clive Owen shows up as an angry British guy who doesn’t like the fact that Statham is chasing British guys, or something like that. Your eyes are sure to glaze over while watching this thing; it’s a total waste of time on all fronts. The only thing cool about it is watching De Niro shoot an automatic weapon, like he did in Heat.
