Great article; thank you TW for covering this urgent problem. The negligence of duty by our City officials is pathetic. Once these buildings and history are gone, they are gone forever. What is it going to take for them to come to their senses?
To Beth Jones, you obviously don't know Don Rollings at all. You question his motives, even after admitting your own properties are being affected? What does deteriorating infrastructure and City negligence have to do with the economy? That doesn't even make sense. In any case, I'll be sure to steer clear of your realty services and properties, and advise others to do the same.
I rent an office in Barrio Viejo and these issues hit close to home. Tucson's history is one of it's greatest assets. This article clearly outlines the egregious neglect of duty by city officials and Tucson Water. The money spent on legal fees, which could have been spent on a remedy to the problem, is a symptom of the dysfunction that permeates our city government.
