Fluxx serves a different aspect of community. It is a Queer community art space that enhances our community. Both do wonderful things for our community. I think both can exist in Tucson. Both are doing things that many places are not. I think a big difference in terms of finances is that Wingspan has a 501c3 and Fluxx does not. Fluxx operates based on donations, rentals, and membership. They are not eligible for the same kinds of grant funding that Wingspan is. But let's face it there are limited funds for any community or art spaces. It isn't about competing with each other, but creating multiple safe spaces for the Queer community. There isn't just one space for Queer people but many. What is special about Fluxx and a reason to support is that Fluxx means supporting art, culture, and advocacy. I hope that addresses some of the questions you had.
