Reading all "Republican No Shows" articles ( Tucson Citizen, Tucson Weekly I & II), after reading all the comments, and being present in the forum myself here is my take:
1) Yes, Democrats did present arguments versus their opponents ( why is this so shocking?) They also provided their ideas on how each of them based on their position (if elected) would take action
2) The questions elaborated to the candidates were of the interest of ALL CITIZENS, NOT ONLY MINORITIES (education, health, immigration)
3) I would suggest these three non partisan institutions (NAACP, Urban League and Black Chamber of Commerce) to do another Community Forum EXCLUSIVE for Republican candidates and ask the same questions, same place to and same format. *Hoping all the newspapers will focus on what the candidates have to offer us, the citizens.
The event was a good opportunity to listen to the candidates, and YES the republican portion was missed. Lets give the Organizers and the Republic Candidates the opportunity to show that their interest IS having the citizens learn more about what they stand for.
