On Sept. 26, 43 students from the teacher's college in Ayotzinapa went missing in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico. The group traveled there to protest what they saw as discriminatory hiring practices by the Mexican government. On the way to the protest, the students were reportedly detained by police and then handed over to a local crime group, Guerreros Unidos. Iguala's mayor and his wife have been arrested and linked to the murder of the teachers. On Thursday, Nov. 20, a national boycott has been called in Mexico in support of the students and their families. In Tucson, to extend that support, there will be a protest in front of the Mexican Consulate, 553 S. Stone Ave., 4 p.m.
