I’m a Believer

It's a New Year, people. Here's a suggestion: In 2016, make it a priority to go to more galleries and support local artists. To get you on the right foot, here's a small suggestion: Elusive Believer art opening on Saturday, Jan. 2, 6 to 11 p.m. at the Wee Gallery (439 N. 6th Ave.). Painter Sam Esmoer work is up, as well as jewelry by his brother, David Esmoer. Sam's work is a beautiful mix-bag of Tucson cultural symbols and reflection on his years in skateboard culture. His paintings are fun, and leave you wanting to know more about the places and people in them. This fun isn't restricted to traditional canvas, as paint-adorned furniture and skateboards will appear in the show as well. For more info, visit the Facebook event page.
