Re: “Ducey 'Next Step' Watch: Day 55

More power to Citizens United, "Dark Money" in campaigns, secret agreements for holding people in foreign countries for the United States, on and on. I do understand the need to protect whistleblowers. There are ways around it if you really wanted to receive the information and relay it through a third party as received from "tipster" or "informant". I also understand "time is money" and so much is done on the cheap these days. I also realize there are "unstable" people living among us. How can I hide if you use my first name?

I think the time has come for real names, full disclosure of interests are a requirement for publication. You have all the right in the world to your opinions and acceptance in the public debates but let us end the hiding behind unsigned views.
Say it and sign it, or shut up!

Re: “Rep. Randy Friese Tells Us Where He Stands on K-12 Funding

Hurray for Representative Friese stepping out and going on record with solutions in the form of solid proposals for future funding in field of education. While I do not agree his approach would be the path I would follow it would work if put in place and not subject to future legislative tinkering.

That is the problem, each legislative session has new leaders with new legislative goals and friends to satisfy. I would support a Constitutional requirement of fiscal support based on a formula of per student basic school support as one leg of a four legged stool to pay for k-12 public schools.

I would suggest a study of a dedicated statewide gross income tax to fund basic school support funding.

The other three legs would consist of property taxes as approved by local taxpayers, funds from collection of sales taxes and federal, county or private grants balancing the other legs. No where would local control be relinquished.

Re: “The Skinny

Massey, your connecting Ally with the mentally handicapped really put pictures in my mind. Then pointing out how close to electing some to lead us, wow, ouch!

Think about, "One flew over the cuckoos nest", where the insane inmates took over the insane asylum, Donald Trump, the original birther and his latest theory on President Obama's role in helping terrorist groups, Ally Miller's filling pot-holes with golden bricks and Timothy Desjarlais writing a new movie script for the Ally in Wonderland series.
