Forks Over Knives

Four years ago, only Mississippi had 30 percent obesity. According to a study released this month, 11 other states have now joined it. Where there is obesity, there is also heart disease, diabetes and greater risks of cancer. The documentary Forks Over Knives strongly pushes what is called a whole-foods, plant-based diet over the traditional four basic food groups—which has the added benefit of rankling the establishment. The film principally cites two researchers and uses several guinea pigs as evidence; perhaps there’s something to it. It’s a verdict worth researching, if nothing else, and Forks Over Knives does a good job of going to the sources of the original information and explaining it in easily relatable ways.
