For the Birds

The natural beauties of our state, the unique plants and animals, are something to be proud of. Some of our state's headlines can be less then respectable, but no one can really deny the beauty of the desert. Celebrate our birds and wildlife Wednesday, Aug. 12 to Monday, Aug. 17 with the Tucson Bird and Wildlife Festival, hosted by the Tucson Audubon Society. The event will feature field trips, bird-watching, expos, workshops and more. The festival kicks off with the Sky Islands Birding Cup. A non-refundable registration fee of $15 is required for participants and associated fees for specific activities will apply. The fee includes admittance to a social at Riverpark Inn, 350 S. Freeway, on Thursday, Aug. 14. To register, or see a schedule of all events, go to tucsonaudubon.org.
