and "when i was in high school" - our dress code stated girls weren't allowed to wear pants of any type (culottes included) or shoes that showed their toes (we're talking hippie era here, so sandals and jeans were the norm), boys weren't allowed to wear sideburns, beards or mustaches, etc, etc, etc; we had a boy whose dad approved of his long sideburns and then his beard but he got suspended anyway; so the kids today have come a long way in what they're allowed to have - as as you say, it's too bad so much time is spent on this and not issues of actual importance; it's just a bunch of people (council) who've got their egos in a bunch and are thinking way too much of themselves and their desire to control others......... if other students and families really got behind Sadie and her family, they'd all dye their hair......... hair color, as dress code, has nothing to do with academics - WiseWomyn
