Re: “Glass Onion Cafe

We used to stop in to grab coffee on our way to work quite a lot. Owner was nice, but so chatty that it kind of got on our nerves...so we didn't go in as much. The last time we did stop in, she must have been in a bad mood, because when we placed our coffee orders she said something to the effect of "It's going to be awhile because I'm cooking these orders" in a snippy voice. Okay.....fine.....sorry to have bothered you. And we haven't been back since.

Pina Colada! With rum. But the rum might have to wait until after 5pm...

Re: “Media Watch

In the past few years, and at an increasing pace, the Star has become pretty useless. Breaking news and important information isn't posted to the site in a timely fashion, and in many cases, is never posted at all. A good deal of what is there is riddled with typos and grammar mistakes and is of no interest to me. And the mobile app...ugh. Click into it, and you get to stare at a Jim Click ad for a long time. When it finally disappears, more often than not you're treated to ilk. On Sundays, for instance, it's story after story of promotions and etc. of the fancy folk in town. Just...no. No way am I paying for more of the same. Especially when there are other ways to get the information that I actually want.

Now, if they began posting good information that's well written, I might pay for that. But for now...no.

Re: “Porn Plot Halted at Area High School

When I was sixteen I bought "Story of O" and hid it in my room. Boy, I got an education from that book. So the passage above? No big deal. Besides, most kids today are internet savvy and have heard or seen worse.

And anyway, sex is part of life. It's not a shameful topic, and kids need to learn to have open, honest discussions about it.

Re: “A Nice, Blunt Take On The Ongoing Pac-12/DirecTV Kerfuffle

There are a few websites that allow viewers to stream most sports games on their computers. I learned about it from a fellow Directv subscriber. Not a great solution, but its better than switching.

Re: “You Should Take Your Mom Somewhere Nice This Mother's Day

Speaking as a mom, my perfect mother's day wouldn't include going out to a fancy place.

It WOULD include my kid cleaning the house, washing the dishes and the clothes, then leaving for several hours so I could enjoy my nice clean house alone. Upon his return, he'd make me his great scrambled eggs for dinner, then clean the kitchen again.

Oh, and a bar of good quality dark chocolate would be nice too.

Re: “Media Watch

I don't know if Bookmans counts as media, but they have a decent Twitter feed for their Tucson stores. Even better, their community rep has her own Twitter feed, and is good about keeping us in the loop about Food Truck Fridays and other Bookmans events, as well as non-Bookmans events around town.

Re: “Fantastic Fast-Casual

We tried this place because of this menu, and we were happy. The only things we didn't like was the overabundance of mint in the veggie spring roll, and having to ask for chopsticks.
