Early 80 couldnt get a gig anywhere for rock. So Randy answered an ad in the dandy dime, looking for guitarist. He met Bill Johnson and Max Miksael, The country band, Mickey Free. Anything to play. I still have a 1980 T-shirt. Randy was at Woodstock and was always a deadhead. Just to set that straight. Lol

I wrote nice piece, maybe too long. It didnt post. No warning it was was too long. Ted brought TDC to Randy, ended up Randy kept it going. Thanks Ted. My post explained how since 1971 there were bands and drummers and all the characters. Rex Estell, drummer for Snow. Brian playing with Eric Garcias band, Randy with Rez, Steve Garcia later bass player sax, Boomers. Those Guys, White Guys, zonies, aziz, Mr Calm and the Willies, Cap nJohn. Mix n match over the years. Band practice my house every Tuesday and Thursday after work, 7:00 pm for seven years.

Brian Barbarisi goes all the way back to the Boomers, Steve Garcia on bass and sax. Chris Montgomery was original drummer of Randys bands. Lots of mix and match. Brian played in Eric Garcias band, but everyone was playing together. Musical chairs. Rex Estell was first drummer I think, Snow? Were you Rex?

Mr Calm and the Willies. Those Guys. My favorite, White Guys, they were playing blues, trying to book them was hard, because managers were given the Willies by possible race overtones.

They played the Halloween Party at Paul Bears house. They all wore rag mops for Raga hair. Randy said the mops were disintegrating into their mouth and lungs. Most uncomfortable. One of many insane moments in the life of the band. All of them.

Bands started in 1971, so plenty of time for everyone to party across Tucson Time. Ted brought Top Dead Center to Randy. The basic band was coming into form. Mike, SJohn, Ray, Ted, straight out of Cap n John. Many memories, have to meld them together, thats why Randy never wanted to leave anyone out.

Maybe a mistake to locate on University, particular spot or not. I think they didn't do enough research. I would like to check them out. I don't know if I can park anywhere or walk just for a macaroon. Yummy as they are.
