Wolf contacted the family immediately after the shooting and had after news organizations had photographed the uncle outside his house, in the street, holding the framed image so the world could see what his niece looked like. Wolf had Christina's father sign a document releasing the rights to the photograph to Wolf. There obviously was a question in Wolf's mind that he may not have owned the rights. Once the attorney and Wolf had that document in hand, the two started their litigation and threats with news organizations that published the image. Christina Green's father has said via other family members that he didn't know that he was signing a document that would enable Greenberg to threaten copyright lawsuits against national media outlets who had published the image of his daughter.
