Things worth knowing this week:
· Claire, Josh and Kate--the fabulous Weekly summer interns--are in the process of calling each and every restaurant in our Chow Scan listings to verify that all of the information is accurate. If you work at or own a restaurant, please be nice to them when they call (and we're doing our best to not call at peak business times). We're just trying to make sure our information is accurate, as we prepare for our Summer Yum! dining guide, which will figuratively hit the streets on July 24. If you're mean to them (and you'd be surprised how often people are rude), then you suck, and we reserve the right to say mean things about you in this space. So there.
· Confidential to the business(es) who mailed in about 120 Best of TucsonTM ballots, in the same type of envelope, with the same pre-printed address label, on the same day: What in the hell were you thinking?
· I've been getting a lot of questions about when the Tucson Area Music Awards, aka the TAMMIES, will be, and we now have a tentative date: Wednesday, Aug. 13. Look for more details soon as we firm up that date. And (tentatively) mark your calendars!
In related news: Within a matter of weeks, we'll be announcing the critics' choice and readers' choice TAMMIES finalists. You, the music-loving Weekly reader, will get to choose among the finalists at TAMMIES.com, and the grand champions will be announced, as always, at the TAMMIES. Excited yet?
