A weekend celebration devoted to creating a sustainable future includes hayride tours of a working "eco-village" with solar panels, rainwater harvesting, organic gardening and "green" buildings, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6; freewill donations. Speakers, pony rides, opportunities to learn about permaculture and preserving heritage foods, live music and children's activities are also featured, and local art, locally made breads, food and other natural products are for sale.
