A weekend celebration devoted to creating a sustainable future includes hayride tours of a working "eco-village" with solar panels, rainwater harvesting, organic gardening and "green" buildings, from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7; freewill donations. Conservation biologist and author Gary Paul Nabhan talks about the local-food movement at 11:30 a.m., Saturday.
