Re: “Danehy

Everyone knows Tom leans left. So why do all the right wingers come out in force after every column? The right and left are very far apart in their perceptions of reality and neither are budging. I don't see any point in trying to convince the other side of their folly. However, it is encouraging that many prominent right wing columnist like George Will and Jonah Goldberg see Trump as the trainwreck that he is.
I don't believe everyone who supports Trump is a racist, but I think Charlie Murphy is more right than wrong.

Re: “Second Chances

Bill, sex offender info is so easy to check out. Shame on you for not doing so. As an employer, you were obligated to put a stop to the harassment when you first became aware. This is very basic stuff.
Sorry Bill, this one's on you.

Re: “Members Only

Check out Purplemed at the Howard Johnsons on the Freeway access road. Very professional, nice environment, lots of strains, including "top self" for a premium price. Owned by local guys. Just opened May 1st so I didn't expect much but I was very impressed.

Re: “Danehy

I always voted but I also felt exasperated by the elderly volunteers who got confused, couldn't find the correct names, and generally slowed down the process to a crawl. I really like the vote by mail system. Voter fraud issues can be addressed with the registration process. This is Tom's second article on this issue. He seems to be recycling old topics.

Re: “Medical MJ

I don't mind the salty language and I look forward to your articles. How about making a trip to Phoenix and reviewing those membership clubs.

Re: “Danehy

I'm going to help you out Tom. What are you suppose to teach your kids about laws and rules? You should teach them that sometimes bad laws are made; like the laws allowing slavery, SB 1070, or the ones that required black people to ride on the back of the bus or allowed businesses not to serve them. I'm sure you can find other good examples. You're going to tell them that if they feel strongly about immoral or unfair laws and rules, you hope they have the courage to speak up and draw attention to the situation, just like the No Mas Muertes group. You're going to point out how a symbolic protest made their point by inconveniencing a few people and got a rise out of you because you do not share their point of view. You will also note that the No Mas Muertes group requested and received permission from the university administration so their message and their medium was sanctioned by the authorities. Your kids will one day realize that you are not always right and that your view of the world as black and white is not reality. That's the day you lose your credibility.

Re: “Danehy

I agree with Tom. However, I found the cheering uplifting. They were cheering the President, the survivors, the heroes, and "the message". It gave me hope for the future as the majority in attendance were students. Regarding guns...I own guns and unless I anticipate an attack by the Taliban, I do not have a need for a 30 round clip or an assault weapon.
