If you had the police lie in wait to ticket you, you'd be complaining too. This happened to me. An officer ticketed me one night on my way to work at 10pm at night in a residential neighborhood. He was there the next nite and ticketed me again.
Oh and Dave, I hope you never have to wait for an officer when your home is being invaded by hoodlums. Remember, he may be doing important work ticketing bicyclists at some stop sign.
Another option is the 'civil disobediance' route. Every cyclist that receives a 'stop sign' ticket from TPD should plead innocent and show up for court. Chances are very good you will still have to pay the fine. An extra 50 cases week will clog up the prosecutors calendars and send the message that this is not something that TPD should be wasting their time on.
No wonder newspapers are laying off 'journalists'. Most can't speak or write english.
I know your argument already: artistic license! colloquialism! Its all a big, wet, stinking pile of horse manure. You toss this crap at us and expect us to smile, nod our heads in acceptance as you mangle the language. And you expect this all because you're a 'professional' wordsmith.

Yes, I know this rant has nothing to do with the topics discussed in the clip from Arizona Illustrated. But it is late and I feel like writing something vitriolic. So there. Neener, Neener you can't catch me.
I kinda like the new site. The old site was getting a little creaky. I do agree with retrov that is is a bit busy.
Some of my first impressions:
I think it needs a bit more color. The red needs a little something to balance it out.
The font size of the articles is just a bit small. Those of us with bifocals have to strain a little. A pixel bigger would be better.
I also took a quick peek 'behind the scenes'. Looks like they did a good job making the page templates.
