Dark Psychology

In the summer of 1971, one of America's most chilling psychological experiments played out in the basement of Stanford University's psychology building. Twenty-four male students were placed into a prison simulation and given the role of guard or prisoner. The cautionary tale of a group of researchers who became integral parts in their own experiment has been recreated in a new drama, "The Stanford Prison Experiment." (See Colin Boyd's review.) The Loft Cinema, 3233 E Speedway Blvd., will have a special Science on the Screen presentation of the film on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Joel Dvoskin, a clinical psychologist at the UA, will speak before the screening.
