Cyclovia

The public can reclaim the streets for walking and riding once again on Sunday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The five-mile route from downtown to South Tucson will be closed to motorists once again and "reopened" to the public so that they can enjoy the open road on foot, bicycle, board, or any other non-motor operated vehicle. Though the day feels like a community-wide block party, Cyclovia's mission goes beyond fun. The event promotes public health and active transportation by providing a safe environment for citizens to explore the streets without the presence of cars or public transportation. Cyclovia is our local interpretation of the Open Streets movement, which has taken hold internationally. The event is free. More information, including the specific route, can be found at cycloviatucson.org.
