Cradle 2 The Grave
DMX finally gets a film lead in this
incredibly standard black guy/Asian guy
buddy movie. Jet Li plays the Asian guy,
and, shockingly, he is also a kung fu
master. Can you imagine? An Asian guy,
in an American movie, who excels at
martial arts? Further, DMX is a jewel thief
and Jet Li is a police officer, and yet
they team up! The idea of a cop
and a crook teaming up, nay, becoming
buddies, is something I wouldn’t have
thought of even if I’d spent, oh, I don’t
know, 48 hours thinking about it. Still, if
you just want to see a lot of stuff explode
and/or get karate-chopped, you really
ought to see Cradle 2 the Grave,
easily the best buddy movie to come out
in the last week.
