Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Why did the CIA support him?

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Any comments on these latest posts- especially the ones from Turkey? I assume you read them?
I can't speak for Edna, but I wasn't calling you a Commie, only uninformed. maybe also loyal to the school to the extreme of not investigating the facts. I'm wondering if you really did look up ALL the posts by exsaa parent, and if you did if you thoroughly read them? Why didn't research anything else but his stuff? Why don't you read
"The Organizational Strategies of Fethullah Gulen"? This is heavy reading and around 12 pages, but well worth the time. Read about who wrote it. Google Turkish Charter Schools or Fetullah Gulen schools and see what comes up. Find out what is going on in the world around you. Look up the Act For America article that came out in the spring of 2009. Check their sources, like "Jane's Analysis". Most of the posts written by parents and students from the school are reminiscent of that old beach boys song "Rah! Rah! Rah! Be true to your school, let your colors fly now..."

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

You looked into the Gulen movement? Or did you just decide that you liked the school and that was that? I would like to know what you read about the movement and Fetullah Gulen, and where you got your information. I have spent so many hours looking up and reading articles on this man, and by him,and much of it concerns me. Could you please share where you got your info when you looked into this?

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Nan, are you the leader of the proud sonoran parents, who have not been able to find anything to these allegations? Have you taken the time to research any of the links or information that has been offered in support of these allegations? Why not, are you afraid that you may find that they are true? I realize that it is so much easier to just write this off as some crazy conspiracy, and cast aspersions on anyone daring to suggest that these things are true, but after the dust settles it wont make any difference. The facts are out there, many on Gulen's own web sites. They are verified by multiple sources, many of which are scholarly. The interesting thing about it is that many of the people who are giving the proof of the charter school connection are actually supporters of Gulen and his agenda.
I am not from Arizona, in fact I live in Utah, and my kids attended the Gulen school (Beehive) and I saw first hand what was going on. Since all of the media coverage, and a legislative audit, the Principal Mehemmet Fethullah Erdogan, (alias Frank Erdogan, alias M. Frank Erdogan) has resigned, and they brought in another oldie but goody, Murat Biyik, who I am sure if you have been at Sonoran Academy for any length of time you will have heard of, to take his place at the helm. An interesting side note to this is that he is not being paid by the school, no, but the good folks at Accord Institute found it in their hearts to pay the bill apparently. Or maybe he just had the funds available personally to work for FREE! hmmm.... it is just amazing how interested these folks are in our failing U.S. public school system.
But the important thing is that your kids are getting a superb education, right?

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

What's the agenda:
It was the same thing with us. We are not at this school either, but the similarities are staggering. Before this article was written, some things didn't add up. I started doing some research and found out some of this before reading this article. It just confirmed what I already knew. just what to do about it and what can be done is the question.
Care to compare notes? I would like know what your school and ours has in common. I have gone to, it's a bulletin board where you can write about your own school and maybe find out about others.

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Sapphirewolf, I think you are out of PATIENCE. To say that you are out of 'patients' would indicate that you are a medical professional without clients.
After reading other posts from the students at this school, and now this one, I don't think the education there is as great as is being professed. Grammar, spelling errors, poor sentence construction, unwillingness to investigate and prove your point through research and facts but instead resorting to anger and hostility...none of these are characteristics of excellent education. Some math and science olympiad awards doesn't mean everything.
I think that you are right on when you say that even the parents of students there don't understand the school, even when they are involved in the parent association. That makes investigating the schools, their connections, contracts, teachers' credentials all the more reasonable.
Whoever posted right before me is also correct. My tax dollars are supporting this school, therefore I have a right to ask questions and get some answers. You may go to school there, but you are not the paying taxes to keep it in business! All of us working adults that don't understand the school are doing that.

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Maybe Edna thought that you had ties to the gulen movement, and that you were saying the school had ties to the gulen movement because you are so emotional in your effort to express yourself, and caustic and harshly criticizing those that question the gulen movement and it's ties. I thought the same thing.
At the risk of you attacking me, as you have others (not really Edna, but others)- again, I HAVE researched Gulen, from his own web site, Janes analysis, and other sites. and I don't like what I read. I am...concerned.
