Conan the Barbarian 3D

Actor Jason Momoa might be largely unknown, but look at it this way: Conan the Barbarian could be his first step toward becoming a philandering former governor of California. Then again, maybe not, because as cheesy as Arnold Schwarzenegger's Conan was 30 years ago, it at least put forth a little effort. John Milius could write and direct and they hired James Earl Jones and Max von Sydow to take some of the burden off young Arnold. The update seems informed more by the notion that because Hollywood also remade Clash of the Titans, maybe the time was right. It wasn't. Nothing about it is. Momoa is extremely limited and the action scenes are unimaginative. On the bright side, they aren't as boring as the dialog. Conan seems neither inspired by the 1982 flick nor the Robert E. Howard stories, nor, frankly, anything else whatsoever.

Conan the Barbarian 3D is not showing in any theaters in the area.
