I actually think that the Legislature is taking its time on the budget while waiting for the Special Election on Prop 123. If it passes, then they can redo the budget and again remove the funding for the schools.
Either the results of the Prop 123 Election need to be withheld from release or the Budget needs to be signed before May 17.

Maybe some of the bonds might have passed if a noted supporter of the Bonds was not someone who keeps demanding that the City buy his closed hotel downtown and let him run it so that he would not have to pay property taxes. Or other supporters who use their corporations to avoid paying property taxes?
How about next time the County wants to pass a bond proposal, instead of saying how much it would cost the owner of a $150,000 home, the County says how much it would cost Raytheon, Asarco, and the other big corporations in Property taxes
Why has the Senate Vote count to advance the bill not been more publicized. There has been talk of the Democrats stopping it by preventing the 60 votes necessary to advance. But the Vote was actually something like 47-46. That means that not even all of the Republicans voted to advance the bill. It is not the Democrats in the Senate Stopping the Funding Bill. It is the bad language and the politics involved. They politics are so bad that even the Senate Republicans don't like it.
