Charles Mingus Hometown Music Festival

The 7th Annual Charles Mingus Hometown Music Festival continues to keep the tradition of jazz music alive in today's society. On Saturday, April 25, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the First Fidelity Bank Plaza, 825 N. Grand Ave., Nogales, Arizona, local jazz bands will perform in the classic American style. The Nogales festival honors Charles Mingus, one of the most accomplished jazz performers and composers of his time, whose hometown was Nogales. Middle and high school students playing at the festival have the opportunity to share the stage with professional jazz artists as part of the festival's dedication to learning. The event is a great family-friendly way to engage with music culture and the community. Admission is free. Mingusproject.com has more information.
