Borat!

Sacha Baron Cohen is easily the funniest man at the movies this year. First, he showed up in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby as a gay French NASCAR driver and upstaged Will Ferrell. Now he headlines Borat, a noxious comedy chock full of racism, sexism and saggy man asses. Some of the stuff that happens in this film is either too funny to be believed or so repugnant that you have to tip your hat to the insane thing and give high marks for courage. Cohen plays Borat, a native of Kazakhstan sent to the United States to report on our culture. In the process of making his documentary movie, he falls in love with Pamela Anderson and seeks to make her his wife. Along the way, he buys a bear to protect himself from Jews (he’s a devout anti-Semite), insults women at every turn and never washes his suit. More a series of stunts than an actual movie, this one has plenty in common with Jackass. You’ll either think it’s one of the funniest films you’ve ever seen or hate it with undying passion.
