Re: “Caterpillar Concerns

I am with Josefina on this. We will have to see what the company can do to help bring forth some of our local culture. I can see that it would be a stretch but if a Fortune 500 company can't do it then who can? I heard some arguments, in talking with neighbors, that the machines were used in offensive ways. Eg. Mining, used to mow down Palastinian housing. That doesn't make a good argument. The local mines, Rosemont, and Oak Flats aren't going to be getting free tractors. And About Palastine, how a tool is used has no bearing on the manufacturer. BTW, the color of the skin of our neighborhood representatives has no bearing either. They are all just good neighbors. Don't go there.

Re: “Where the Tuition Tax Credit Scholarship Money Goes

Taking money from Peter’s school to pay Paul’s school and them blaming Peter’s school for doing a poor job. Right…

Re: “Take the Power Back

Good article! Fighting to reduce the power of neighborhood residents is stupid from the onset. If you win and gain a majority interest, for instance, you would only serve to alienate and reduce or eliminate the role of the resident. Now you don’t have a neighborhood association any more. They didn’t think this one through.

Re: “Crisis of Confidence: City Transportation Staff Called Out on Double-Dealing

The role of the citizen’s committee has to be given more legal power. For years I’ve seen the City of Tucson use and abuse the time and people on committees. Most recently the committee to select the City Manager. They were given 2 hours to start from scratch! One bureaucrat whittled the search from 42 to 2 before this August committee was given their pathetic role. It is time for a change in the system.
