Turkeyless Thanksgiving Feasts

Posted By on Fri, Nov 9, 2012 at 1:15 PM

If you absolutely must gnaw on the carcass of a dead turkey on Thanksgiving, stop reading this ... now. If you're either a vegetarian or just into trying new things, however, we've got a couple of interesting alternatives for you to consider.

The first is the annual all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving feast at Govinda's at 711 E. Blacklidge Drive. The highlight of this event is the live turkey that roams around in magnificent splendor while you dine on some of the finest vegetarian fare in the city.

Govinda's also has a kick-ass pond with koi the size of small children in it. There's more on the restaurant here. Check the special events section for specifics on the Thanksgiving meal.

In other meatless Thanksgiving Day news, Lovin' Spoonfuls is also throwing a feast this year:

Lovin’ Spoonfuls Vegetarian Restaurant is offering our traditional feast on Thanksgiving Day. This meal will be available by reservation only and includes:

- Tossed organic spring salad with Sesame Dijon salad dressing

- Fountain beverage

The meal is 100% plant based. Gluten-free options are available. Please let us know at the time that you make your reservations if you require a gluten free meal.
