From Jim Nintzel, at McKale Center:

— Napolitano got about 10 times the applause that Brewer did.

— Huge roar of applause and emotional moments when Daniel Hernandez gave shoutout to Pam Simon, Gabe Zimmerman, Gabby Giffords, Ron Barber, first responders, docs who saved Giffords life.

— The memorial service brought out a wide collection of Arizona's politicians, including Secretary of State Ken Bennett, AG Tom Horne, legislative leaders House Speaker Kirk Adams, Senate President Russell Pearce, House Minority Leader Chad Campbell and the members of the Southern Arizona delegation. Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and members of Tucson City Council. Former AG Terry Goddard.

— Tucson Symphony Orchestra performed before and during the event.

— Raul Grijalva shook hands with John Huppenthal.

— Surgical staff that rescued Giffords got a big ovation when they entered the room, as did Daniel Hernandez.

Some quotes from people in attendance:

From Andrei Cherny, former candidate for Arizona Treasurer and current candidate for chairman of Arizona Democratic Party: "Gabby represents the best of Arizona in every way. She is one of the brightest stars amidst our leaders and on Saturday, she and many others came face to face with the worst of our state"

"Gabby has the gift of being able to stay on point in debate," says Secretary of State Ken Bennett, who sat next to Giffords in the state Legislature. "She never got personal. She was a true joy to work with."

"I hope we can start the process of moving forward," says Rep. Chad Campbell, House minority leader.

House Speaker Kirk Adams says he was recently at a function with Giffords. "She's a woman of grace and incredibly kind," Adams said. "She's also very thoughtful."

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik on Judge Roll: "He was one of the finest human beings I ever met and the epitome of what judges ought to be," Dupnik said. "Every judge should take a look at him."
