La Botana is not your average Mexican Restaurant. The food here is from all over Mexico, and therefore, seafood is in the picture. The best example of this tasty difference is the tacos gobernador: Tender shrimp is grilled to perfection (rumor has it with butter) and tossed with chiles, onions, garlic and cheese; it's all then stuffed into a corn tortilla and cooked on the flat top until the tortillas are golden brown and just slightly crispy. The resulting taco is a little spicy, a little sweet and totally toothsome. You can get them with the Juan combo plate, or order them à la carte. All that is needed is an ice-cold cerveza, and you'd swear you were on the beach in Rocky Point.
