El Corral

El Corral is a repeat winner in this category, sort of the Tom Hanks of steakhouses. And as in the case of Mr. Hanks, there's good reason for the repeat awards. Year in and year out, El Corral serves up great food at reasonable prices, all wrapped up in a cozy, bunkhouse atmosphere. The steaks are great, but it's the prime rib that brings folks back. Cuts range from petite cut ($9.95) to extra-large cut ($16.95). Ribs, chicken and fish are also on the menu. Skip the more traditional sides and order the tamale pie, which is a moist cornbread laced with mild chiles and cheese. MMMMM! In high season, there'll be a wait, but the patio and bar are lovely spots to pass a little time.
