STAFF PICK: No, God doesn't run it, and it isn't a branch of a Rhode Island cultural preservation society. The Providence Institute is a healing center that soothes upon entry--the ever-smiling staff and the gentle essential oils that hang in the air instantly relieve the stress of the day--and that's before you've begun any type of therapy: shiatsu, cranial sacral, deep-tissue, accupuncture, yoga, aromatherapy, tui na and the list goes on. The body therapy is addictive, so beware. Lucky for us, the PI's goodwill keeps therapy in the affordable range and its wide-ranging schedule gives us an opportunity for healing seven days a week, from early in the morning until late into the evening.
