PetSmart encourages people to bring in their pets, and considering how many dogs there are in the stores at one time, they are remarkably well-behaved, treating the outing as an opportunity to make new acquaintances and explore the latest pet-care products. They especially love watching all the lively, edible prey--safely behind glass. Chew toys are strategically shelved at muzzle height, but so are cat toys, so you'll want to stay alert lest Scruffy or Fido choose a mouthful of feathered balls and catnip to take home. Strategically placed cleanup kiosks are handy when accidents happen. PetSmart has everything your pet needs, including good advice about care, but, honestly, who really buys those frilly clothes and fancy beds? Wear a hat; wild birds may fly through the rafters.
