Since the Chicago Music Store has existed in downtown Tucson for more than 90 years, it may be where your great-grandmother bought piano sheet music, where your grandfather bought his first button-box accordion, and where your mother bought her saxophone reeds when she was in her high school band. It means a lot to us that the downtown icon has that cameo in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, but the reason we still love the place is that the store continues to help Tucson families make music in good times and bad, all while helping us remember our roots when people talk about wanting a shiny, happier downtown Tucson. Thank the gods that Chicago is still around to put us in our place.
