The smell of freshly roasted beans draws in somnambulant neighbors, making this the perfect clubhouse for those almost ready to wake up from their restless, swamp-cooled dreams. The folks here roast beans four or five times a week, selling their 14 different blends to both Chevron stations and other coffee houses. In fact, that's mostly how they pay the bills, roasting and shipping to all points east and west, thanks to their Web site. The shady side patio offers foliage and friends, in case you want to sit for a while and try a cup while sharing a caffeinated opinion or two about local politics or the price of tea in China.
