While one might argue what actually constitutes as activism these days (liking a post on Facebook sure creates change) it's clear to Tucsonans that former State Rep. Gabby Giffords is an activist. She showed courage and resilience through the shooting that made nationwide news and didn't let a bullet stop her from fighting for the community. Most recently, she has been pushing for tougher gun laws and continues to stand up for victims of domestic abuse.
