The Murderous Lumberjack at Stone and Glenn

STAFF PICK: A Tucson fixture for decades, the 15-odd-foot-tall lumberjack statue on the corner of Stone and Glenn has a vaguely psychopathic look--and it doesn't help that he holds a giant ax, replaced for a few weeks around Christmas with a giant candy cane by mysterious, anonymous elves. As far as we know, it's the only one of its kind in the Southwest, though up in Paul Bunyan country the statue has plenty of cousins. This one evidently got drunk and wandered out this way late at night, and here it's stayed for as long as anyone can remember.
