On the surface this bar looks like any other neighborhood watering hole, but there's a culinary secret here. Somewhere in the back of the house is a kitchen that is putting out some damn fine bar food, the best of which is the Friday fish fry. For a mere $7 you get three pieces of white fish served with fries and cole slaw. Seriously, this is a great meal! The fish comes hot out of the fryer—crispy on the outside, moist and sweet on the inside. The fires pop too, and if you're good the bartender will put a bottle of malt vinegar on the table to add a taste of Britain to the fish.
