Mount Lemmon (general)

When the hustle and bustle of city life gets to be too much, Mount Lemmon offers an escape, year-round, that's easily accessible. Mount Lemmon offers a dazzling desert landscape at the base of the mountain that transitions into green forest at the top. You can sleep under the stars comfortably at almost any time of the year. Campsites are maintained by the U.S. Forest Service and typically have picnic tables, a metal grill and space to pitch a tent and roast marshmallows by the fire. There are also various hiking trails, and you can visit the University of Arizona's SkyCenter to get a close-up look at some astronomical wonders.
