Best Brunch

The Grill at Hacienda del Sol

Prices are considerably higher here than at those all-you-can-eat-Chinese-Mexican-American-pizza-dessert-for-$7 brunch buffets--but honestly, it's worth it. (Besides, you can't order a bottle of champagne from an award-winning wine list at those places.) Using the finest ingredients--many from the onsite garden--the staff turns all those regular brunch items into something special. Eggs Benedict become Southwestern eggs Benedict, and potato salad is cranked up several notches with new red potatoes, bacon, caramelized onions and whole-grain mustard. There are trays of seafood: shrimp, mussels, sushi and more. Fresh fruits and vegetables, a roasted meat station, various entrées and desserts are also available every week. Need we say more? Reservations are suggested for the brunch, available Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $32 per person; kids 12 and younger eat for half-price.
