Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey

Rated PG 80 minutes 2011

This is one of this year’s best documentaries. Kevin Clash, the voice and puppeteer behind Elmo, tells his amazing life story—a life story that has plenty of energy directed toward Jim Henson. This isn’t just the story about Clash and his puppetry, but of his rewarding interactions with the man who gave us Kermit and the Muppets. I count myself among the people who have gotten a little irritated by Elmo in the past, but after spending some time watching Clash and his story, the little red furball’s stock has gone up with me. Watch this one—and then run out and watch the new Muppet movie. That would be the perfect double-feature
