Beerfest

The Broken Lizard troupe (responsible for Super Troopers and Club Dread) take a rather lame premise and deliver a not-too-funny movie. After being humiliated by Germans while trying to dump their grandpa’s ashes during Oktoberfest, a group of wacky Americans (the Broken Lizard guys) decide to form a drinking team, travel to Germany and kick their asses. If you are a massive beer chugger, that would probably benefit you in watching this, for the humor is quite beer-oriented (as you might be able to tell from the title of the movie). Some great CGI work has coins flying into glasses during drinking games, and Cloris Leachman has a funny small role as Grandma the Whore (she actually utilizes the German accent she had in Young Frankenstein). Honestly, the other two Lizard films got funnier on subsequent viewings, so maybe that will happen with this one. As it stands, it’s the weakest of their films.
