B-Sides: Soccer Babes

GET YOUR KICKS

Borrowing bits of punk but without all that in-your-face tough guy attitude, Oregon's Soccer Babes offer indie, shoegaze and power pop influences to lighten the mood on their most recent EP3 release. Well, maybe they don't quite lighten the mood, as the trio is still rather moody, but you certainly won't find anyone throwing elbows in the crowd when the band plays Gary's Place (125 W. Ventura St.) on Monday, May 30. Joined by Portland pop punkers No More Parachutes and LA's Young Jesus, as well as local support from The Rifle, this Memorial Day show kicks off early at 7 p.m.
