B-Sides: Snoop Dogg

SUMMER BLAZE

Two and a half decades of Snoop Dogg have seen a few name changes, sure, though not as many as P.Diddy. What's remained constant is the rapper's well-known reverence for smoking trees and his distinct West Coast style. Chill as hell with a smooth flow, Snoop's a legend in the hip hop world for a reason—and not just cause of how much weed he can smoke. With 21 albums, 13 of which are collaborations with rappers like Nate Dogg, Warren G and Wiz Khalifa, the prolific artist has contributed a lot to the genre, all while breaking into Hollywood with roles in Half Baked, Training Day and, of course, 2004's Soul Plane. His most recent album, 2015's Bush, served up ten Snoop songs, true to his roots and produced by Pharrell Williams with guest appearances from Kendrick, T.I., Stevie Wonder and Gwen Stefani, that proved he's still got it.

Snoop Dog performs at Casino del Sol's AVA Amphitheatre (5655 W. Valencia Road) on Thursday, May 26. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets for the concert range in price from $25 to $65. You can buy yours and find more information on this and other AVA Amphitheatre events at casinodelsol.com.
