B-Sides: Man Man

Hold onto Your Heart

Let's be real. Man Man is pretty weird, but it's that good kind of weird that makes it impossible to stop listening to them. Melding baroque pop with funk and rock and that awesomely gravely voice from frontman and songwriter Honus Honus (a.k.a. Ryan Kattner), their discography goes from beautifully grim to an all-out dance party at any given moment. If you haven't been a fan since many jumped on the bandwagon after the 2006 release of Six Demon Bag, now is definitely a good opportunity to see them live. It's always a good time full of elaborately odd costumes and synth solos.

You can catch them with the equally unique Shilpa Ray opening at Club Congress on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Doors open for the show at 7 p.m. and it's an all ages event. For tickets, which run $15 per, and more information, visit
