Recently I became mildly obsessed with a local band called Hair Narrative. With over a dozen lo-fi home recorded songs posted on a Soundcloud page, the one man acoustic band displayed a range of grungy, sullen ballads that are just kind of odd with titles like "Kill Everything in Winter" and "Death." From there, there's little more information about the local act aside from a Craigslist ad from a month ago asking if anyone wanted to be in a band called Hair Narrative.
"I've only recorded these in my apartment with an acoustic guitar and some smacking on my desk for drums. Pretty stupid!," the ad says. I'm sold. I don't know why, but I am.
Well, turns out we can all look forward to seeing local Cory Aaland's new music project, according to Logan Greene who booked Hair Narrative to play at 191 Toole on Wednesday, May 27. Joining Hair Narrative, who are clearly relatively new and opening the show, is Yulia and The Albert Square, both of California and both pretty strongly of the pop punk persuasion. Weird Guilty Pleasures of Tucson will also be playing, with the whole shebang kicking off at 8 p.m.
The all ages show is $5 at the door, which I will happily pay to see Hair Narrative, along with the three other bands. The venue is located at 191 E. Toole Ave.
