BOBBY SING THE BLUES

It's no question that Bobby Rush is a blues legend. Having played the same stages as Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and Etta James, Rush came up with the best of them. His unique, experimental style later in his career, fusing elements of hip-hop, funk, gospel, salsa and electronic music with his soulful voice, showed that Rush is still evolving, rounding out an over 50-year career with his inventive flair. In June 2015, Rush was inducted into the Official Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame.

You can catch Bobby Rush live in Tucson at the Rialto Theatre (318 E. Congress St.). Local preteen blues virtuoso Roman Barten-Sherman will open the show at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28. Tickets are $18-$25 and can be found online, along with more information, at www.rialtotheatre.com. It is an all ages event.
