Rooted in downtown Tucson’s historic arts warehouse district, Artifact Dance Project continues its series of collaborations with local musicians. For this fall concert, singer Rebecca Carlson will perform iconic jazz standards from the past to present day including songs by Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Erykah Badu, Edith Piaf, and Elvis Presley. The band includes Chris Black on bass, Sly Slipetsky on piano, and Fred Hayes on drums. Choreographer Ashley Bowman will set contemporary movement with various themes on 9 dancers. The intimate setting of the Artifact studio space allows audience members a chance to be close to the dancers and musicians. The cast of dancers includes Claire Hancock, Marquez Johnson, Logan Moon Penisten, Jeff Griffith, Allie Knuth, Hanna Moreno, Sam Kraus, Nate Myers, and Lauren Renteria.
