Re: “UPDATED: What the Hell Happened in the Arizona Primary Yesterday?

A petition to do a re-vote of the Arizona primary already exists.

Re: “UPDATED: What the Hell Happened in the Arizona Primary Yesterday?

I don't have enough information on the demographic & political breakdown of Arizona to say one way or another. That's why I said that while it is possible that something questionable happened, until it's proven we should assume it was just screw-ups and not something more sinister. I'm not one to advocate conspiracy theories, but I also won't rule out possibilities until a proper investigation has been done.

Re: “UPDATED: What the Hell Happened in the Arizona Primary Yesterday?

It's always possible that something shady happened, especially considering how widespread the issues were. However, until something is definitively proven, we should assume it was just general incompetence and/or technological failure. They certainly had enough other incompetence going around yesterday.

However, I would caution you against your statement that you intend not to vote if Hillary gets the Democratic nomination. Donald Trump is the current Republican front runner, and Hillary does not poll as well against Trump as Bernie does. If Hillary and Trump get their respective party nominations, it could be a very close race. And despite distrusting her, I think she would be a vastly better president than Donald Trump would be. So if it comes down to Hillary and Trump in the election, I hope you will still vote for her. Not because you believe in her, but because she has to be better than Trump.

Re: “UPDATED: What the Hell Happened in the Arizona Primary Yesterday?

In answer to Juli Hess, that's likely exactly what happened. It's what I did. I live in WV, another state with closed primaries. I've been a registered Independent since I was first eligible to vote 15 years ago. This year I changed my party affiliation to Democrat because, for the first time since I was 18, I actually care which Dem gets the party nomination. And I want it to be Sanders, because I don't trust Clinton to work for the people. I firmly believe that she will only work for the campaign contributors and lobbyists dumping money in her lap, and that's not in the best interests of the general public. Many other Independents out there feel the way I do, but because of the closed primary system we would not be allowed a voice in our state's primary election if we maintained that party affiliation. So it doesn't surprise me at all to find that many Independent voters are changing their party affiliation to Democrat if their state has a closed primary. It's the only way we'll be allowed to have our say.
